If I have a Tower Shield +3 and want to upgrade it to Tower Shield +5...it costs me 3 tokens.

If I have a Tower Shield (plain) and want to upgrade it to Tower Shield +5...it costs me 2 tokens.

If I have an Amulet of Natural Armor +2 and want to upgrade it to +5...it costs me 4 tokens.

If I have a plain Copper Necklance and want to upgrade it to +5...it costs me 2 tokens.

Huh?

Okay, I guess it looks at the item and it costs more with existing properties or something? But then...

If I have plain boots it costs 2 tokens for 5 AC.

If I have Boots of the Tormented Soul it costs 1 token for 5 AC.

Huh?
